My
Lips have kissed the lips. . . . In
my last ramblings I noted
that we are connected across space and relationships
to everyone else on the planet.
I
thought that was cool until I stumbled across an even
more amazing thought. So . . . . . Here is another
thing to reckon with – We are also connected
over time, much more closely than we think.
Do
you remember your first Kiss?
This
is my "first kiss" story:
When
I was little we couldn’t afford holidays (everyone
say aaaah!) so we went to visit relatives and my favourite
destination was “Great Grandma’s house”.
Great
grandma was the oldest and most wrinkly person I knew
and her tiny little mid-terraced house (which still
had an outside loo) was like an adventure to a kid – although
looking back it was very poor accommodation for a family
of four plus Great grandma plus aunt Flo!
When
we left at the end of our stay I would give great grandma
a great big smacker on the lips and say goodbye.
OK so great gramdma probably wasn't my first kiss - but she was an important
kisser in the context of what I'm thinking!
Great
grandma was born in 1890 . . . turns out her great
grandad's brother was born in 1816 at Higher Ragged
Hall in Gusburn Forest (sounds very romantic - but
probably wasn't).
Here's
the thought.
My
lips have kissed the lips of someone whose lips have
kissed the lips of someone born nearly 200 years ago
(1816)
on
that basis it is only about 24 kisses to get back to
the times of Jesus - and less than 50 to Moses . .
